To you, my Sis, friend and doc

I hate hate hate goodbyes 🙁

I sit on the couch, and tears run don my eyes. I cannot deny that God had blessed me with the best sisters in-law ever. When I tell people that my sisters in-law and I are genuinely friends, many think I am not being honest.

You see, I am married to the last child of a wonderful family. I have become the last child and baby by fire by force!  My sisters in-law have adopted me and I am thankful! I get on their last nerve, but there is nowhere they can throw me o. I stalk them, disturb them, harass them, learn from them, pray for and with them, and our aproko ( gist, not gossip o!) game is on point!

Anyway, my sister in-law and her family came over for two weeks and they are heading to the airport as I type this. I am here crying and stuffing my face with dodo. Everyone who knew she was coming knew how excited I was about this visit.

We talked, played hard, discussed our fears, frustrations, our children, the future, and I am thankful I can always do all these with her.

To you, my very own big sis, my doc doc…Thank you for cleaning, sorting my laundry, rocking baby X to sleep, bathing your god-daughter, and making sure I got to rest. Thank you for everything you got me, the kids and your brother. Thank you for listening when I ranted, thank you for sharing nuggets of wisdom and secrets with me. Thank you for loving me for me, and accepting me with my many flaws. Thank you for stylishly telling Mr. X things you thought he should be doing that he isn’t. Thank you for deliberately trying not to lord your views and opinions over me. Thank you for being patient with me, and for believing in me. Thank you for always being just a phone call away. Above all, thank you for being my friend.

I tell you all the time, and I am telling you again, you have been such a blessing to me. May the Lord bless and keep you, and may he continue to give me the wisdom to treat you and our relationship with the care needed. I am eagerly looking forward to our next holiday.

By the way, you and my big bros are just such a wonderful combo. Mr.X and I respect you both on so many levels. Please give him a kiss for me. I was too weepy to hug you both as tight as I wanted.

Take care of you for me sis. I love you 🙂

  2. Yeah, goodbyes can be messy. A good way to handle it is to hold in to the memories made while you were all together. Godly, friendly in-laws are a blessing!
